ABOUT KORTNI

Yes, I am a life coach &

shortcut ninja, it's true.

With a varied list of jobs over the years, one thing was always clear - I love to connect with people.  I love to listen, to hear their stories and their struggles.  I’m compassionate (and have been told I give the best hugs ever) but won’t let us dwell on the problems, because my mind sees a way out of the darkness.  I love puzzles and problem solving, and getting more results, with less effort.

Having experience with different professions has left me with a unique set of skills.  I’m a certified health and life coach and have been a software developer, fitness instructor, landscaper, comedian, improv actor, reiki practitioner… to name a few.  When I’m not having fun helping people be awesome, you can find me on a trail or beach with my dog Phoenix, nerding out on a spreadsheet, or upside down somewhere.

With an ambitious list of life goals, an obsession with efficiency, and a challenging internal side, I have spent many hours studying the quickest way to function better.  And how to enjoy my life daily.  Because otherwise, what’s the point?

Years ago, I looked around me and saw so many reasons to be grateful, but I felt deeply miserable inside on a regular basis.  Life was dark.  I’d been struggling with 2 young kids, debilitating sadness, a frustrating marriage, anxiety, and undiagnosed ADHD for years.  Coping with substance use, and making things worse.

I don’t know what my wakeup call was, maybe it was the low point when my brain started telling me we should end it.  Maybe it was staring into my kids eyes and realizing that if I didn’t do something differently, my boys could lose their mama.  Maybe it was realizing that I wasn’t really living, and that I was teaching my kids to cope with the struggles of life by putting things off and avoiding responsibilities.

Whatever the kicker was, I got my ass in gear.  I read dozens of books, took courses, saw therapists, and tried a LOT of new things.

Fast forward a few years and I no longer feel stuck.  I love who I am now and enjoy my life every day.  I’ve learned great concepts along the way and love to share, so if you’re curious about some ways to get more results in your life with less effort, let’s connect.
